Discover lake Tahoe tours is a great company. They offer several tours, ranging from Yosemite full day tour, a tour around the lake, a tour to Virginia City, and a tour to the wineries in and around apple hill. We were in SLT for a week and had already planned on going to apple hill, so when I saw this tour offered by our resort, I jumped all over it.
They have modern luxury small buses. The seats are extremely comfortable and the ride was smooth. The driver, John, narrated the whole trip with history of the areas and photo opportunities. A picnic lunch was provided at one of the wineries, with sandwiches potatoe salad, fresh salad and a variety of beverages. If in south lake Tahoe, and you do not want to deal with the traffic and maps, try this company out. They were on time picking us up, they totally accommodated both my wife and being disabled.
Will be back next year.

I signed up for yelp just to leave this review. My family & I were very pleased with this service. We did the Yosemite tour with Snowshoe John as our trip guide & it was INCREDIBLE! Once in a lifetime event for us as we probably won’t come back to the area & we were blown away by the scenery. It is a Must-Do on your trip and totally worth every penny. You have a driver, a very knowledgeable guide (VERY), we learned so much on this tour. Don’t worry – plenty of stops to go to the bathroom, to take scenic pics & to stretch our legs. He brought a variety of lunch food and found the perfect spot. The tour was almost cancelled due to the park closing the roads & thank goodness the owner took a chance. John said he hadn’t seen the sites at that time of day & it was breathtaking (how would we know the difference of showing up a few hours earlier?). We were just pleased the tour was still going to happen. And at one stop, 3 guests didn’t show up & we waited well beyond the time John said we were leaving & he finally went back & found them. Left nobody behind. Helpful, knowledgeable & took care of 15 of us. If you have doubts on the long day or the expense – please please go on this tour. You won’t be disappointed!

The wine tour was absolutely fantastic! What made it so? Having none other than Snowshoe John as our guide. He is extremely knowledgeable of the area, from the lake to the surrounding mountains to the area around the wineries. He gives you a running, unscripted commentary throughout the trip that makes it not only informative, but entertaining. Then the wineries he takes you to are pretty great too! Four different wineries, each with their own varietals were each unique. Tasted and bought some good wines along the way. Then at the 3rd stop John set up and served up a tasty lunch of make it yourself sandwiches/wraps, salads and drinks. The whole tour was a memory we won’t forget about our stay at Lake Tahoe in 2021! Well recommended!

We recently vacationed in this area and we’re recommended by a family member to use this travel tour company that they had used before. We booked three different tours (Lake Tahoe, The Wineries and Yosemite Park) and were completely satisfied. Their buses were spotless,comfortable,right on time and we did use two different tour guides/drivers. Each guide was well informed and they knew the answers to your questions before you even asked them. Plus if they didn’t know the answer, which is surprising, they quickly found the answer. The drivers offered so many suggestions to make your visit even more pleasureable with interesting tidbits of their area. They opening love their jobs. The breakfasts/ lunches that were served outside were not “browned bagged” like we have had on other tours but delicious, nutritious salads,breads,meats,fruits,etc served with either water,juices and other drinks. My husband and I highly recommend using this tour company. You will just love it.

We did the Lake Tahoe to Yosemite day trip/tour. It was fantastic. Snowshoe John was a great guide, lots of perfect stopping locations for great photos. Perfect size breakfast & lunch provided. All the highlights of Yosemite with a seasoned guide who drives you around and points out the great facts, features, and makes it a fun trip.

We’ve toured with them several times over the years and have had a blast every time! We’ve gone to Kirkwood, Yosemite and Virginia City. Their coaches are clean and comfortable, the tour guides are very informative, they share stories and they’ll fill you in on a lot of the local history. They make sure to take great care of you. You definitely get first class treatment! You definitely get great bang for your buck. Tip them nicely! = )

Discover Lake Tahoe shuttle was on time to help my guests ride back and forth from my ceremony location by the lake for my wedding. I was so happy with their service, and they even text me the day of to make sure everything is together. I didn’t have to do much to explain the service that I needed. Working with this shuttle service was effortless.
